For the first time in the history, the U19 Women's World Championship will take place in the Czech Republic in the beautiful historical city of Olomouc, in the heart of Moravia. Fourteen best teams will come to Olomouc to fight for the title of world champions, including Sweden, Finland, the defending champions from Switzerland, as well as teams from other European countries.

We are introducing a country, where there is no women's junior league, but still you will see their young players in Olomouc. Slovakia will participate in their third U19 women's championship. The first one in Germany was not very successful; the tenth position meant relegation. Now they're returning to Division A after a clear victory in Division B in 2008.

Finland is among the three teams that won medals at all U19 women's world championships held so far. They have never won the gold medals, though. And the young Finns make no secret of the fact that they would like to reverse these statistics at the upcoming world championship. Let's now have a look at one of the hot favourites of the upcoming championship.

While the Czechs were polishing their shape at the Polish Cup in Poland, the national teams of Sweden and Finland met at the traditional sports event, Finnkampen, which took place in the town of Vantaa this year.
