Surá: We have a clear goal, which we go after Print E-mail

Dagmar Surá, the most experienced player in the Czech selection. Her 33 caps in the Czech U19 national team will hardly be surpassed. Today, she again led her team as a captain against the favourites from Sweden, but despite all the effort, they did not succeed.

How would you personally evaluate your team's performance today?

"Well, it was bad. It's difficult to play against them. Even if we try really hard, they're simply better. The Swedes play very well."

Yesterday you agreed that you lose much energy when playing in penalty killing situations, but still you got many penalties today as well. Was it due to the fact that you were tired and therefore had to help yourselves with fouls?

"Probably yes. They're much faster and we had to use our sticks more and that's probably why we were often penalized for incorrect hits. The referees at this WFC are awarding many penalties, which is not good for us. We lose too much energy in every penalty killing situation and then we miss the power when playing five on five."

Tomorrow is your most important game. Is there any energy and motivation left?

"We definitely have enough motivation, there's plenty of it. We have a clear goal, which we still go after. We have to get into the fighting mood and show the strength of the team. Above all we have to avoid unnecessary penalties. We will play with our heart and it simply has to work out."

Who would you like to play against in the bronze medal game?

I would personally prefer playing against Switzerland. I think we can play tighter games with them than with Finland. So, we will see in the evening how it comes off."

Thank you for the interview and good luck for tomorrow.
