Skopková: The Swedes were more quickly everywhere Print E-mail

For our interview we have asked the Czech goalie Veronika Skopková, who replaced Kristýna Horňáková in the middle of the game. Despite before the game she had not expected she would get into the goal during the match, she was bravely resisting the Swedish pressure.

You went into the crease when the score was 7:1 for the Swedes. What was it like for you?

"It was difficult. I went there in the middle of the period and I wasn't really warmed up. My saves were not very confident at first because I didn't have a chance to get the feel of the ball. But after the period everything was all right."

You were supporting your team with good saves. From the position of the last player you saw everything on the court perfectly. Did you manage to perceive all the hustle and bustle? Would you tell us what the main differences between the two teams are?

"Yes, I managed. I was commanding everything from the back like I always do. As regards the teams, the Swedes were more quickly everywhere; their movement on the court was better and so was their control of the ball. At certain moments we seemed to be a bit confused."

Other than that, how did you enjoy the game?

"It was great. I hadn't expected to play in the game, so I was really happy. It was my first game against Sweden, so I really enjoyed it."

Are you looking forward to tomorrow? Do you believe in your success, whoever you will play against?

"I think we can succeed with either of the teams. We have already played against Switzerland and we know what to expect from them. We haven't been very successful against Finland recently, so it's hard to say who I would rather play against."

Can you reveal to us, why did the team before the match look like defeated already?

"I never noticed that. It seemed to me the same as always. We tried to focus on the game and felt some respect for the opponents, so maybe we just looked like that."

What was it that you found in your net in the third period?

"Well, it was a bouncy ball. I don't know how it got in there but I took it and have it in my bag. I hope nobody's looking for it."

Thank you for the interview and good luck in your match tomorrow.
