For five U19 national teams the first weekend in February 2010 meant the last test before the Championship in Olomouc – the Polish Cup. Besides the home team of Poland, the teams of Latvia, Switzerland, Norway and the Czech Republic participated in the tournament. The former two teams will play in Group B in Olomouc, whereas the latter three will play in Group A.

The U19 women's national team is moving step by step towards the World Championship in Olomouc in May. The team lead by Michal Marošek and Michaela Cepková got together last week at the training camp in Liberec and next week they are going to play four games at the Polish Cup in Wolsztyn, Poland. For the U19 players it is the last chance to fight for a place in the squad. "By mid March I have to announce the final squad for the championship," says the coach Michal Marošek.

The Czech U19 women's national team players have had a very busy beginning of the new year. Two games against Dietlikon, school duties at home in Prague, and back again to Switzerland to play a game against Burgdorf, the result of which might reveal chances of the Riders to participate in the SML playoffs.

The Czech women's U19 players already count down last months before the beginning of the World Championship hosted by Olomouc, Czech Republic. At the end of January they will meet at a training camp in Liberec, and the selection also includes the key player of the extraleague team of Liberec, Hana Koníčková, who has recently gained new experience at the women's senior world championship.
