Germany thrashed helpless Austria

The eleventh place game featured the teams of Germany and Austria, and was full of goals. Unfortunately for the Austrians, from the very beginning all goals were scored into their net only. The game was virtually decided after the first period already.

The dark horse made it from Division B to the 5th place

The second today's game scheduled in the UP hall was the 5th place game. The game featured the "dark horse" of the tournament, team Slovakia, led by Jaroslav Marks. On the other side of the rink there was the team of Norway. The battle took place on the court as well as in the stands; both the teams had a great support during the entire championship.

Poland and Latvia fought in the 7th place game

The battle to avoid relegation from Division A was watched by 243 spectators. From the very first face-off they could see mainly nervousness of both teams, which stemmed from the importance of this game. Wrong substitutions also appeared on both sides. The beginning was controlled by the Latvian selection, who put the Poles under pressure, and it took almost 7 minutes before the Poles could think about their offence as well. Then both teams had a chance to play a power play. The fact that the Poles did not have a chance to replace their goalies is worth mentioning as well! Mrugala was in the crease from the very beginning. The first goal was scored as late as at 15:05, when the Poles scored in a power play. The scorer was No. 11 Maja Stenka. After a foul by Zeipe the Poles had another chance to increase the gap. But Stenka did not score from the penalty shot. During the entire game some girls had problems with "gravitation." In the previous games we could already see that some of the players slip on the floor…

Grabovský: I am glad the event is hosted by Olomouc

Roman Grabovský, as the president of the organizing committee of the U19 Women’s World Championship, is one of the busiest members of the WFC organizing staff. Despite it was mainly his merit that the championship has been held here in Olomouc, he cannot enjoy many games as a spectator himself. Still he found a few minutes to answer our questions.

Hungary outscored Austria by 16:0

The last game of the preliminary stage in Division B at the U19 Women's World Floorball Championship 2010 in Olomouc was only a formality. Austria is on the last, fourth, position in the division without a single point, whereas Hungary was the only unbeaten team and will play in the final against Russia.

The third place in Group A was seized by Slovakia

The last game of today's programme brought the encounter between two Group-A teams, Slovakia and Poland. These two teams fought for the final third place in the group, because the first two positions were already seized by Switzerland and the Czech Republic. The Slovaks were supported from the stands by a numerous group of their fans, who already watched the previous game. Still it was a shame that more spectators did not see the great Slovak performance.

Bára Burdová: We have to avoid penalties

She has been among the key players of the Czech national team’s defence for several years already, and the same applied to the game between the Czech Republic and Switzerland. Yesterday she was one of the busiest defenders as well. Bára Burdová evaluated the game for us.
